BEST FOR HOLIDAY BARGAINS
www.travelsupermarket.co.uk
A great comparison site for everything from car hire to flights. Particularly
strong on travel insurance (it's part of the moneysupermarket group) and
also searches extras including airport parking. Bargain hunter tool works
well if you're flexible on dates, plus the deals link you straight through
to the relevant page on the providers site.
www.travelzoo.co.uk
Cherry-picks the best of the bargains online. Uninspiring design, but it’s
great for bargain hunters who can sign up for a weekly e-mail of Top 20
deals.
www.expedia.co.uk
This powerful and extensive site is one of the country's most visited holiday
websites - and worth a look before you book your break. The search filters
are specific, e.g. you can request only hotels with a pool, or with
air-conditioned rooms or complimentary breakfast. You can also split
payments between different cards and bookings are Atol-bonded, which
protects you if one of the providers goes bust.
www.codes.co.uk
If the frequent flyer miles aren’t adding up as quickly as you’d like, try
this site, which has a travel section brimming with money off vouchers. It
lists deals with airlines, tour operators, cruises, hotels and more, with
discounts, bonus miles, sales etc. The downside – you have to work for your
bargain. Links often go through to the provider’s homepage, so you’re left
to search for the deal yourself, and some are outdated. Also try www.vouchercodes.co.uk
which has a good travel section (scroll down to the bottom of the homepage
for the link).
