Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, the Harlequins and England forward, and Richard Moore, the Wakefield Wildcats prop, face possible suspensions when they appear before the RFL disciplinary committee tomorrow after a scuffle at a scrum prompted reds cards.
McCarthy-Scarsbrook appeared to head butt Moore during an outbreak of fighting that preceded Wakefield's third and conclusive try by Aaron Murphy, the full back, who got the Wildcats' Engage Super League campaign off to the perfect start at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.
"This is a very tough place to win at and I have come unstuck here before," John Kear, the Wakefield coach, said. "I am very happy with the result and most of the performance. Obviously there is stuff to work on we need more sharpness in a few areas.
"But this bedded in a few of the new players and that's a big plus. As far as the sendings-off went, I honestly did not see what happened. It seemed to just blow up, so I will have to look at it on DVD."
Danny Brough set up Daryl Millard's opening try with a pin-point kick and Murphy's break-out from defence created a try for Ben Jeffries at the start of the Australian half back's second spell at the club. Two tries by Ben Jones-Bishop, the 21-year-Leeds Rhinos centre who is on a season's loan, lifted an injury-depleted Harlequins but not sufficiently to knock Wakefield off their stride.
Brian McDermott, the Harlequins coach, said: "We knew we were not going to be at our best but there was plenty of encouragement. In Jones-Bishop we have someone who is pure class. I'm not going to start talking about England or anything like that, but he is that good. We just need to move forward and stay positive."
Scorers: Harlequins: Tries: Jones-Bishop 2. Goal: Orr.
Wakefield Wildcats: Tries: Millard, Jeffries, Murphy. Goals: Brough 3.
