Sir, The willingness of the Iraqi people to vote cannot be denied (letter, Mar 12). However, despite the impressive turnout figures your report (Mar 12) on “stolen votes” belittles its significance.
I do not question the desire of the Iraqi people for freedom and democracy; I do, however, question the motivation of those in positions of power and responsibility, where it seems corruption is still holding democracy back.
